SendThis connector for Claude
It lets Claude look things up in your SendThis account. This guide covers how to add it, what it reads and how to remove it.
What it does
With the connector added, Claude can answer questions like these from your account:
- Did anyone download what I sent?
- Who opened it? (Plus and Pro)
- What comments did people leave?
- Where’s the link to that transfer?
- How many uploads has my file request had?
- How much storage am I using?
The connector is read-only. It can’t send, change or delete anything.
How to add it
In Claude
Open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste this address, and connect.
https://api.sendthis.com/mcpIn Claude Code
Run this command in your terminal. Then type /mcp in Claude Code and sign in.
claude mcp add --transport http sendthis https://api.sendthis.com/mcpHow sign-in works
- Claude opens sendthis.com.
- You sign in with your SendThis account, if you haven’t already.
- A page asks “Allow Claude to access your SendThis account?” It shows the account you’re signed in with and the address you’ll go back to.
- You choose Allow or Cancel, then return to Claude.
We email you whenever an app is connected to your account.
You sign in on sendthis.com, so your password never reaches Claude, and there’s no token or key to copy into it.
Tools
list_transfers- Your sent or received transfers, newest first, with their share links.
get_transfer- One transfer’s files, state, expiry, link, views and downloads. It lists the first 50 files, with the total.
get_transfer_activity- When and where a transfer was opened: daily views, previews and downloads, recent visits with country, city and device, and recipients. Plus and Pro.
list_comments- Comments on a transfer’s files, with who wrote them and their reactions.
search- One search across your transfers, the files in them and your contacts.
list_file_requests- Your file requests and how many uploads each has had.
get_account- Your email, plan and storage.
Plans
- It works with a free account.
- View and download counts are on every plan.
- Which emailed recipients opened a transfer, and when and from where it was opened, need Plus or Pro.
What data it reads
It reads exactly what the tools above return, from your own account. That then appears in your Claude conversation.
SendThis receives only what a tool is asked for, such as a search term or a transfer id. It doesn’t receive the rest of the conversation.
How we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.
How to disconnect
On sendthis.com, go to Account settings → Integrations → AI apps and press Disconnect. It stops working on Claude’s next request.
You can also remove it in Claude, under Customize → Connectors.
Sending files
The connector can’t upload or send files, because it runs on our servers and can’t reach your computer.
The SendThis plugin can. It runs on your computer, in Claude Code and in Cowork sessions on your computer, and needs Node.js 20 or later.
It shares files and folders as a link, emails the link to people, downloads what others send, and makes upload links.
It isn’t available in regular chat or on mobile.
To install it, run this in Claude Code:
/plugin install sendthis --marketplace CuriousObjectsHQ/sendthis-claude-pluginTroubleshooting
Claude says it can’t send a file
That’s expected. See Sending files.
“This sign-in request has expired”
A request lasts 10 minutes, so connect again from Claude.
“This app can't connect to SendThis yet.”
Sign-in only accepts known apps, so connect from Claude.
“Too many requests from this account. Try again in N seconds.”
There’s a limit of 60 lookups a minute per account.
“SendThis couldn't answer that because of a problem on our side. Try again in a moment.”
Try again. If it keeps happening, contact support.
“Who opened it is shown on the Plus and Pro plans.” or “Transfer analytics are not available on your plan”
Those details need Plus or Pro.
Claude asks to sign in again after a disconnect
That’s expected, because the connection was removed.
