Choosing between SendThis and TransferNow
Compare whole-transfer and per-file allowances
TransferNow describes its free size allowance for the whole transfer, while SendThis specifies a per-file ceiling alongside account upload and storage allowances. Those numbers answer different questions. Add up the complete delivery and check your largest individual file before comparing plans. Also consider link duration and the controls included in the selected plan, using the official sources linked in the table.
TransferNow sourceCheck the complete delivery before uploading
Count every file in the package, including source assets and reference exports. If you expect to add a revised file later, consider how you will identify it and notify the recipient. Keep your own copy and tell the recipient when to download. For an expired delivery, consult the current recovery conditions instead of assuming that an old link can always be restored.
Try a small delivery before changing your workflow
Prepare a representative folder with the file types you normally send. With SendThis, sign in, upload the folder and share the transfer link with a recipient who can check the experience. Ask them to try a supported preview, download an individual file and save the full set. If a native file needs specialist software, include a reference export so the recipient knows what it contains.
Check the selected expiry, any password setting and the limits shown for your plan. You can add files to a shared transfer, but label revisions clearly and notify the recipient. View and download counts show activity rather than approval, so keep your normal sign-off process. Retain an independent copy of important files; sending a transfer does not replace your own storage or backup arrangements.
Questions about SendThis vs TransferNow
Is a whole-transfer limit the same as a per-file limit?
No. A whole-transfer limit applies to the combined size of the delivery; a per-file limit applies to each file. SendThis also has account upload and storage allowances. Check the full package against every applicable limit before choosing a plan.
Can I use SendThis alongside TransferNow?
You can keep your existing working files where they are and upload a copy of the deliverables to SendThis. This is a separate delivery, not an automatic migration or sync. Check the files, versions and expiry before sharing the new transfer link with your recipient.
Was ist SendThis?
Is SendThis free?
Yes, SendThis is free to start and needs no card. The Free plan covers files up to 5 GB, 3 transfers a month, 10 GB of uploads in total and links that last up to 3 days. Plus and Pro add more room.
Are there ads on SendThis?
No. SendThis has no ads on any plan, including Free. There are no ads on the page you send from and none on the page the person you send to opens. Their download page shows your message and your files.
How large a file can I send for free?
On the Free plan, each file can be up to 5 GB, with 10 GB of uploads in total. Plus raises the limit to 10 GB per file and Pro to 250 GB per file, with no lifetime upload cap.
